Unique Dome Home Featured in Burlington Free Press

Over the years, the media has used all kinds of descriptions for Monolithic Domes. The most recent comes from the Burlington Free Press in Vermont, which describes the dome-building process this way in a recent article: “You can inflate a tire, or inflate a balloon. Now you can inflate a brand new house.” So begins the story of Dennis and Trisa Gay’s new Monolithic Dome home being built by South Industries. The home is part of Chaplain Valley Co-Housing, a community where residents live in their own homes, but cooperate with their neighbors on a wide variety of tasks. Dennis Gay says the community’s emphasis on sustainability and efficiency makes the Monolithic Dome home a perfect fit.
